Exhall & Wixford v Leamington Cricket Club 3rd XI on Sat 11 Jun 2011 at 1.30
Leamington Cricket Club Won by 10 runs
Match report
A hard fought victory saw the III's win a rain affected game by 10 runs. Batting first Leamington posted 252 all out in 43.3 overs which was underpinned by a superb century (112) by Jimmy Gethins, abley supported by Rob Wollaston 39 and David Lord 33. The final score was 20 runs shy on an excellent suface.
Rain during tea delayed the start of the 2nd innings and reduced Exhalls target to 169 off 31 overs. Exhall looked to be reaching their target whilst skipper Gate was at the crease but he was reoved by Pardeeps first ball for a well made 62. The game was still in the balance with left hander Park finding the boundries regulary but he was one of Jon Alcocks 4 victims in a brilliant bowling spell. Alcock was well supported by Tom Davison who bowled his 7 overs for just 21 in a hostile spell. A good win cements Leamingtons position at the top of the table.
