Leamington Cricket Club 3rd XI v Stratford Bards on Sat 11 May 2013 at 1.30pm
Leamington Cricket Club Won By 190 overs
Match report
A return to winning ways saw the 3rds defeat Stratford Bards by 190 runs and secure 24 points.
Batting first Leamington were reduced to 59-3 with only Somra making a competent 22 before holing out to cover. This brought together power hitters Connor Grant and Liam Killian who put on 145 for the 4th wicket with Grant scoring 76 and Killian 63. A late cameo by Mark Davison, 40 not out, enabled the thirds to finish on 270-6.
Stratford's reply never got going and after losing 4 wickets inside the first 10 overs 2 each for Matthew Davison and Gaurav Gandecha it was an uphill battle. Spin twins Matt Sellers and Matt Dale hurried through 17 overs taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively helped wrapped up the innings for 80.
A comprehensive victory sets up Leamington well for their visit to early league leaders Henly in Arden.
