Leamington Cricket Club 2nd XI v Walsall on Sat 29 Jun 2013 at 12.30pm
Leamington Cricket Club Lost by 7 Wickets
Match report
A poor performance against bottom-of-the-table Walsall, say Leamington slip to defeat on Saturday.
Choosing to bat first on a lovely summer's day, Leamington fell well short of a competitive total. The only highlight was a first fifty for the Club from Raiza Jabarkheil promoted to No.3 in the order. He had good partnerships with Jim Gethins (23) and Jason Butler (46) before being dismissed for 53, one of three wickets for Mark Green. The late order failed to contribute with only Ady Butler's 24 of any note. Leamington limped to 185 - 8 at tea.
The early part of Walsall's innings looked promising for Leamington as two wickets fell cheaply. However a match-winning stand took place between Simran Sidhu (60) and Steven Plant. The latter batted through to victory ending 81*, as Walsall cantered to 188 - 3 with plenty of overs in hand. Two wickets for the persevering Paul Lawrence.
