Leamington Cricket Club Sunday XI v Kenilworth Wardens on Sun 14 Jul 2013 at 1.00pm
Leamington Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets
Match report
Leamington's Under 20s gained an easy win over local rivals Kenilworth Wardens in a match held as part of the celebrations for ex-England hero MJK Smith's 80th birthday.
Wardens batted first on a lovely wicket and made progress against some generous bowling. Harry Johnson made 30 and James Ray 44, before Robin de Regt added a cultured, undefeated 69. Wardens were pegged back in the latter stages, ending on 205 - 5 in 40 overs.
Leamington hit the straps from the first over as Harry Philpot and Jack Bewick cantered along at six an over. Bewick made 57, including three sixes, whilst Philpot fell just shy of a deserved century, making 93. Skipper Jon Wigley (30*) saw Leamington home on 205 - 2 in the 32nd over
